Is the Domain I want available?

You'll have to check.  Every web hosting service offers the ability to check in advance if the domain you want is available before you decide if you want to use their service or not.  There are literally millions of domains registered at any given time, so if your first idea for a website is already taken, try different ideas or combinations.  

Remember that dashes can be used in your domain name.   BriggsPublishing.com may be taken, but Briggs-Publishing.com may not.  Or BriggsPublishing.net, BriggsPublishing.tv... you get the idea.   Many web hosting services even include your domain for free just for signing up!

This site offers two domains for free when you sign up. Simply click on the "Sign Up Now" button, and you will be asked for the name of the domain you would like to register. If the name is already taken, simply click the back button, and try again.


Or simply visit any web host you like, and check whether your domain is available.  If it's available at one web host, it will be available at all of them!
